USA Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme

The USA Centenary Programme was launched on Thursday 7th January 2016 in the Irish Consulate in New York. On hand to mark the occasion was Minister of Foreign Affairs, Charlie Flanagan, Irish Ambassador Anne Anderson, New York Senator Chuck Schumer, Author Colum McCann, Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns, Chair of Culture Ireland Mary McCarthy, Singer Maxine Linehan and Actor Liam Neeson.

Liverpool Commemorative Programme of Events Booklet

The Liverpool Centenary Programme of Events was launched on Friday 26th February 2016 by the Liverpool Easter 1916 Commemoration Committee. The men on the front of the programme are the four King brothers from Liverpool, Patrick [top left], John [top right], George [bottom left] and Edward [bottom right]. Patrick, John and George fought during the Easter Rising while Edward fought in the War of Independence. The programme comprises twelve illustrated glossy pages with information on the various events organised in Liverpool to celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

Newry Commemorative Programme of Events Booklet

The Newry Commemorative Events Programme was produced by the Newry 1916 Commemoration Committee. The programme comprises eight illustrated glossy pages with information on the various events organised in Newry to celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

South Armagh Commemorative Programme of Events Booklet

The South Armagh Centenary Programme of Events was launched on Tuesday 26th January 2016 in the Ti Chulainn Centre, Mullaghbane by the South Armagh 1916 Commemorative Committee. The programme comprises twelve illustrated glossy pages with information on the various events organised in South Armagh to celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

Derry Commemorative Programme of Events Booklet

Derry’s Centenary Programme of Events was launched on Wednesday 20th January 2016 by Sinn Féin in the Guildhall, Derry in honour of Derry Volunteer Dan McGandy on the 87th anniversary of his death in action during the War of Independence on 20th January 1919. Prior to the launch, actors in period military dress paraded outside the Guildhall. The programme comprises eight illustrated glossy pages with information on the various events organised in Derry to celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

Derry Event-Dawning of the Day

This 4-page leaflet is for a re-enactment of the 1916 Easter Rising held on 12th May 2016 in the Guildhall Square in Derry. A cast of over 100 performers wearing original period costumes and backed by selected music recreated the military trials and  executions of the leaders on stage.

Belfast Commemorative Programme of Events Booklet

The Belfast Centenary Programme of Events was launched on Monday 26th October 2015 by Sinn Féin at the Belfast City Hall. The programme comprises eight illustrated glossy pages with information on the various events organised in Belfast to celebrate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Also includes a Copy of the Proclamation.

This Centenary Programme of Events produced by Sinn Féin commemorates Irish Republican Women involved in the 1916 Easter Rising. The programme comprises four illustrated glossy pages of the various Women’s Events organised in Belfast and a Copy of the 1916 Proclamation.

2016 at the National Library of Ireland was launched on Monday 7th December 2015 by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys. It lists the events and activities in the National Library of Ireland to mark the Centenary Commemorations of the 1916 Easter Rising.

National Concert Hall-Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme

The National Concert Hall 2016 Centenary Programme of Events entitled “Imaging Home” was launched on Thursday 19th November 2015 by Minister of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys and Minister of State, Aodhán Ó’Riordáin. They were joined by the National Gallery CEO, Simon Taylor and Chairman Gerry Kearney. Inspired by the 1916 Proclamation, “Imaging Home” is a series of seven concerts to take place from Monday 28th March to Sunday 3rd April that speak of Ireland’s cultural journey over the last 100 years, its place in the world today and its shared future.

The Culture Ireland Centenary Programme of Events entitled “I am Ireland” was launched on Saturday 3rd October 2015 by Minister of State, Aodhán Ó’Riordáin at Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre. This international programme reflects on Ireland’s cultural journey over the last 100 years.

National Gallery of Ireland-1916 through the National Collection

This Centenary Programme from the National Gallery of Ireland “1916 Through the National Collection” brings together drawings, prints and paintings along with sculpture and descriptive texts from the National Collection depicting key figures, iconic scenes and vivid accounts from the time. Information on both artist and work is provided so that each artefact may be considered in its own right in relation to 1916.

Comóradh Na Gaeilge Centenary Programme

Programme of Events Booklet from Comóradh Na Gaeilge/The Gaelic League to commemorate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Comóradh Na Gaeilge is a democratic forum of the Irish-speaking community. Members of Comóradh Na Gaeilge which was founded in 1893 by Eoin McNeil and Douglas Hyde played a key role in the Easter Rising.

2016 At the Abbey-Waking the Nation

The Abbey Theatre Programme “Waking the Nation” to celebrate the 1916 Easter Rising Centenary was launched on Wednesday 28th October 2015 by the Director of the Abbey Theatre Fiach Mac Conghail. He was joined on stage by Tánaiste Joan Burton, Minister of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys and Minister of State, Aodhán Ó’Riordáin. It lists the various productions with a 1916 theme that are to be staged in the Abbey Theatre during the Centenary Year.

Irish Film Institute-Sing Street

This booklet from the Irish Film Institute includes “Appraising the Rising” which lists the range of films to be shown at the Institute in Temple Bar, throughout Ireland and internationally which reflect the evolution of Ireland as an Independent State since 1916. On Easter Sunday, there will be a cine-concert featuring a programme of newsreels documenting events preceding and following the uprising in Dublin in 1916.
