Donegal

This County Donegal in 1916-From the Edge History & Heritage Education Pack was aimed at upper primary/secondary students, teachers and a general audience. It represents a collaborative effort between the Donegal Archives, Donegal County Museum, County Donegal Heritage Office and Donegal County Library Service.  The Education Pack comprises a 64-page illustrated booklet and 19 facsimiles contained within a designed folder. The booklet provides an overview of life in County Donegal and the major events affecting the people of the county in the year 1916. It is divided into four sections focusing in particular on the events of the Rising from a County Donegal perspective. It also describes the life of ordinary people in the county and the impact of the First World War in 1916. The facsimiles are high quality copies of original documents and photographs which relate to the sections in the booklet.
