The following Commemorative Coins issued for the

Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising form part of my collection

 

Box Set of Three Centenary Coins produced by Harmony Promotions of Fairyhouse Road, Ratoath, County Meath.  The set includes a 24 Carat Gold Plated Coin, a Silver Plated Coin and a Bronze Finished Coin. The obverse shows the Seven Signatories of the Proclamation and the reverse the first few lines of the Proclamation. This Box Set is limited to an issue of 999. My Set is No.166. I also have a Single Boxed 24 Carat Gold Plated Coin produced by the same company.

Thomas Gear Jeweller-Silver medal and Gold and Silver Plated Coins

Thomas Gear Jewellers in Dublin produced these three coins to commemorate the Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. A crafted Solid Silver 40mm diameter Coin with a raised 3D image; the obverse has an image of James Connolly with the legend “James Connolly Republic of Ireland 1916-2016.” The reverse has an image of the GPO with the legend “General Post Office Dublin Poblacht na hEirinn Cead Bliain.” The Boxed Gold and Silver Plated Coins which are polished to a high finish are identical to the Silver Coin.

Sinn Féin-1916-2016 Silver Commemorative Coin

This Silver Centenary Coin is limited to 2016 pieces and comes in a unique Presentation Box which suspends the coin in the centre. My coin is No.29.

Gold and Silver Plated 1916-2016 Easter Rising Commemoration Coin in a Green Presentation Box. This Commemorative 1916-2016 Centenary Coin was produced by Conchúir O’Dullagháin in Ohio USA. The proceeds from the sale of this coin were donated to the Glasnevin Cemetery Trust for flowers for the Republican Graves.

This Pádraig Pearse Coin was issued by the Dublin Mint Office. The obverse shows Pádraig Pearse alongside the Sword of Light. The reverse features the words “Sworn to be Free” both in Irish and English.
